The Explorers used back-to-back goals to close the gap to one, 5-4, but the Midshipmen closed out the quarter with goals by Trevor Clark (Santa Marcos, Calif.) and Crawford Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa.).

The Explorers closed out the third with a 3-0 run to trim the margin to one, 9-8, heading into the final quarter.
