Setting the Stage
•   Army and Navy will meet in the greatest rivalry in all of sports on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field (69,176) in Philadelphia for the 119th playing of America's Game, the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA. CBS Sports will televise the game nationally with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call, while Westwood One will have the national radio call with John Sadak, Mike Mayock and Ross Tucker.
•   Navy leads the all-time series, 60-51-7 (.538), including a 44-39-4 (.529) mark in Philadelphia and a 10-1 (.909) record at Lincoln Financial Field.
•   If Navy defeats Army, then Navy, Air Force and Army will all share in the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy this season since the three teams would all be 1-1 against each other (Air Force beat Navy and Army beat Air Force). The trophy would remain at West Point in this scenario because the rules state the previous winner retains the trophy if all three teams go 1-1 against each other. In the previous 46 years the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy has been on the line, only four times has there been a tie (1974 retained by Navy, 1976 retained by Navy, 1980 retained by Navy and 1993 retained by Air Force).
•    If Army defeats Navy, then the Black Knights would win the trophy for the second straight year and for just the third time in the last 23 years.
•    The Mids are 25-6 over the last 31 games against Service Academy rivals Army and Air Force.
•    Army enters the game ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 25 in the coaches poll. It is fhe first time since 1996 that Army enters the Army-Navy Game ranked in the top 25. Army was ranked No. 23 that year and defeated Navy, 28-24. Navy last entered the Army-Navy Game ranked in the top 25 in 2015 when the No. 21 Midshipmen defeated Army, 21-17.
•    Navy has beaten a ranked opponent 36 times in its history, including twice in the last three years. Navy has defeated a ranked Army team three different times. In 1957, No. 8 Navy defeated No. 10 Army, 14-0. In 1954, No. 6 Navy defeated No. 5 Army, 27-20, and in 1943, No. 6 Navy defeated No. 7 Army, 13-0. Â
•    Navy has lost 12 straight and 14 of its last 16 games played away from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Mids' last win away from home was a 31-21 victory at Tulsa on Sept. 30, 2017.
•   Navy head coach
Ken Niumatalolo is in his 11th year at Navy, making him the longest-tenured coach in school history. With 87 career wins, he is the winningest coach in school history.
•    Niumatalolo's eight wins against Army are tied for the most in Army-Navy history with College Football Hall of Fame Coach Earl Blaik of Army, who was just 8-8-2 (.500) from 1941-58 against Navy. A victory against Army would make Niumatalolo the winningest coach in the history of the Arny-Navy Game.
•   ESPN College Game Day will broadcast live from Philadelphia from 9:00 am-12 noon right outside of XFinity Live, which is across the street from Lincoln Financial Field. Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, former Navy assistant coach Lee Corso and Maria Taylor will be on hand.
•   CBS Sports Network will air Inside College Football: Army-Navy March-On presented by USAA from 12-noon to 1:30 pm and Inside College Football: Army-Navy Tailgate presented by USAA from 1:30-2:30 pm with host Brent Stover, analysts Randy Cross, Houston Nutt and Kevin Carter and reporter John Schriffen. CBS Sports will air a 3:00 pm pregame show with Adam Zucker, Brian Jones and Rick Neuheisel.
•   WBAL Radio (1090 AM) will air a two-hour Navy Insider Show on Saturday starting at 12 noon with Keith Mills and Scott Wykoff.
•   The Navy Football Tailgate Show on WNAV Radio 1430 AM / 99.9 FM will air 1:00 pm.
•   The Navy Football Pregame Show with host Tim Murray will get underway at 2:00 pm on the Navy Radio Network, followed by game action beginning at 3:00 pm with Pete Medhurst, Tom O'Brien and Joe Miller on the call on the Navy Radio Network. Â
•   Following the contest, Medhurst, O'Brien, Miller and Murray will recap the day's events in a 30-minute postgame show.
Game Day Festivities
•   The March-On of the Brigade of Midshipmen will take place at 12:11 pm, followed by the March-On of the Corps of Cadets at 12:41 pm.
•   The Service Academy Exchange of Cadets and Midshipmen will take place at 2:45 pm.
•   The Golden Knights and Leap Frogs will jump at 2:48 pm (weather permitting).
•   The National Anthem will take place at 3:00 pm.
•   The Army fly-over will take place at 3:08 pm. Â
•   The Navy fly-over will be at 3:08:45 pm and will feature four Boeing F/A-18C Hornets from the "BLUE BLASTERS" of VFA-34 based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va. Piloting the lead aircraft will be the BLUE BLASTER Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Will Mathis USNA Class of 2000. The wing aircraft will be piloted by, Lt. Cmdr. Thomas Kilcline, USNA Class of 2008, Lt. Casey Murdock, USNA Class of 2012, and Lt. Charles Johnson, USNA Class of 2013. The Blue Blasters recently completed a deployment to the Western Pacific aboard the USS CARL VINSON as the last operational Navy squadron to fly the "legacy" F-18 aircraft.  The squadron will soon "sundown" the F-18C and transition to the F-18 Super Hornet.Â
•   Kickoff is set for 3:10 pm. There is a chance for a five-minute slide starting at 2:10 pm and if that happens, all the above except the March-Ons will be pushed back five minutes.
•   Following the game, the alma mater of the losing team will be played with both teams standing at attention, followed by the alma mater of the winning team. It is the greatest tradition in all of sports.
Navy to Wear Goat-Inspired Uniforms
•   Navy will wear Under Armour mascot-inspired uniforms for the 2018 Army-Navy Game presented by USAA.
•   The Army Black Knights and Navy Midshipmen have a deep-rooted rivalry that goes back more than 100 years. Each year, this epic college football competition comes to a head in a match-up that draws in college fans from across the country. For the 2018 game, Navy will take on Army in a uniform that honors the rivalry and draws on an emblem of the school's pride – Bill the Goat.
•   The Navy Goat mascot came to be in 1893 when officers from the USS New York, a United States Naval transport ship, gifted a goat named El Cid to the Naval Academy. The Naval Academy appointed this goat the honorary mascot for the fourth-ever Army-Navy game, in which Navy beat Army in a momentous victory. To commemorate the win, the goat was appointed team mascot and became a valued symbol of the Navy football program.
•   Sixty years later, the goat made headlines after a group of cadets from the United States Military Academy kidnapped it ahead of the 1953 Army-Navy game. The media storm that ensued prompted then President Dwight D. Eisenhower to order the goat's return back to the Midshipmen. Since this historic kidnapping, Navy has protected their goat diligently and with great pride, keeping close watch for weeks leading up to the game vs. Army each year.
•   The Navy Goat uniform tells the mascot and academy story through an assortment of distinct design details. The sleeves of the jersey are navy blue in color and feature two stripes on the outside with the Navy logo in the center. This color-blocking look was inspired directly from the trim of the blanket popularly worn by Billy the Goat. In addition, the goat is depicted on the sides of the helmet, charging forward and wrapped in its blanket.
•   To match the jersey, the pants were designed in the same shade of navy blue with a stripe down the panel of the pants that features six breaks. This same design is also echoed on the helmet, which is a nod to the school's history since the United States Navy was founded by Congress with six frigates.
