COLUMBUS, OHIO â€"â€" Navy's Lauren Barber (Jr., New Wilmington, Pa.) began her slate of events at the 2018 NCAA Swimming Championship by placing 33rd in the 200 individual medley Thursday at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio.

Barber posted a time of 1:57.93 on Thursday to finish one position higher in the event than she did two years ago at this meet when she qualified as a freshman. She was seeded 26th in the 200 IM this year with a qualifying time of 1:55.87.

Barber will compete in the 100 breaststroke on Friday and then the 200 breaststroke on Saturday.
