Navy football seniors
Travis Brannan,
Eric Cal and
Marcus Edwards have been named to the Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The three are now eligible for Academic All-American honors.
Brannan, a slot back from Austin, Texas, has been a key special teams' performer for the Mids while carrying a 4.0 grade point average and majoring in ocean engineering. He has made five tackles on special teams in 2019.
Cal serves as the backup center and also plays on special teams while carrying a 3.93 grade point average and majoring in chemistry. Cal is currently going through interviews for medical school.
Edwards has been a contributor on the defensive line while carrying a 3.33 grade point average and majoring in robotics and control engineering.
Navy, 7-1 and ranked 24
th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, travels to South Bend, Ind. on Saturday to take on 16
th ranked Notre Dame (7-2) in a 2:30 pm contest that will be televised by NBC and broadcast on the Navy Radio Network.
