PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – It was announced on Wednesday that the Army-Navy baseball rivalry has been afforded and accepted an offer by the Philadelphia Phillies to play its 2020 Star Series at Citizens Bank Park. The three-game series is set to feature a single game on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11 beginning at 1 p.m.
Â
"This is a tremendous opportunity and privilege for Army and Navy to play at Citizens Bank Park this coming spring," head coach
Paul Kostacopoulos said. "The City of Philadelphia has been a longtime friend of the Army-Navy rivalry and its proud traditions. For our two programs to be a part of that tradition is truly special. The generosity and support of the Philadelphia Phillies organization has been humbling and certainly much appreciated by our two service academies."
Â
Philadelphia is set to become the fifth different neutral site location to host an Army-Navy baseball game and Citizens Bank Park is set to be the third different Major League Baseball stadium to host Army-Navy on the diamond. Orioles Park at Camden Yards hosted Army-Navy in 2006 and 2018 while Fenway Park hosted an Army-Navy contest during the 2018 season.
Â
"It's an honor for the Phillies to host one of the most iconic rivalries in sports at Citizens Bank Park," said Phillies' President Andy MacPhail.  "In addition to being able to support the city of Philadelphia's historic engagement with this rivalry, we look forward to welcoming both the Cadets and Midshipmen to our home as they take the field as part of this historic event."
Â
Among other neutral site locations, Army and Navy have met on the diamond in Easton, Pa., and Millington, Tenn. In neutral site affairs, the Midshipmen hold a record of 11-6 over the Black Knights.
Â
The City of Philadelphia is now scheduled to host three Army-Navy events during the 2019-20 season. Men's soccer was played at Talen Energy Stadium in October and the Army-Navy football game is set to be played on Saturday, December 14 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Ticket information for the 2020 Army-Navy baseball Star Series will be announced at a later date.
