KINSTON, N.C. – Rain has washed out the action on Saturday at the Freedom Classic between Navy baseball (1-3) and Air Force (2-3), with game two of the series being postponed. Sunday will feature a doubleheader starting at noon to finish out the 2019 Freedom Classic at Grainger Stadium.
Following continuous rainfall throughout Friday night and Saturday morning, along with more rain in the forecast throughout the day on Saturday, the second game of the Freedom Classic has been postponed. The series between Navy and Air Force will resume on Sunday at noon with a doubleheader scheduled.
The first game of the series went to the Midshipmen in a 2-1 contest on Friday night, where
Noah Song posted 14 strikeouts in six innings and
Christian Hodge led the offense with three hits and a run.
Ryan Duffey recorded the lone RBI on Friday night for Navy in the win.
The 2019 Freedom Classic is scheduled to conclude on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader starting at noon at Grainger Stadium in Kinston, N.C.
