DANBURY, Conn. - Junior
Lucas Beltran was announced on Tuesday as the ECAC Specialist of the Week after a trio of high-level performances over the weekend in meets at William & Mary and Springfield.
The junior from Corpus Christi, Texas went three-for-four over four combined events at William & Mary and Springfield. His weekend started on Friday when he took first place on vault versus the Tribe with a score of 14.2. He would go on to record two more first-place finishes against the Pride on Sunday scoring a 14.2 on vault and 13.8 on floor. He also scored a 12.3 on parallel bars at Springfield. No. 9 Navy improved to 7-1 on the season with victories over both the No. 15 Tribe and No. 16 Pride. Individually, Beltran ranks 22nd nationally on the vault with a 14.467 average and 28th on the floor exercise with a 14.05 mark.
This is the second career ECAC weekly award for Beltran as he was named the league's Rookie of the Week on Feb. 7, 2017. As a program in 2019, Navy gymnasts have now collected seven weekly honors, including four Rookie and three Specialist of the Week nods ...

Navy will back in action this coming Saturday with a non-conference tri-meet at Arizona State. The Mids will compete along the host Sun Devils, as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions. First touch in Tempe is set for 6 p.m. ET (4 p.m. local).
