ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy (27-13, 5-0 Patriot League) men's tennis team did not drop a set in posting 7-0 victories over Coppin State (0-12) in Annapolis and Loyola (5-10, 2-4) in Baltimore Wednesday afternoon.  The Mids have now won six matches in a row and have posted an 8-1 record in their last nine matches.
 
Navy remained unbeaten against Patriot League foes this year with its win over Loyola.
 
The Mids lost just five games in winning the three doubles matches from the Greyhounds.  Jack Dabek (Fr., Dublin, Ohio) and Andrew Ton (So., Milpitas, Calif.) won a 6-0 decision at No. 1 doubles, Peter Lohrbach (So., Little Neck, N.Y.) and Derrick Thompson (Fr., Towson, Md.) recorded a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles and Greg Durham (Jr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.) and Jake Fishkin (Fr., Baltimore, Md.) combined for a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 flight.
 
Dabek continued his strong play by posting a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.  Fishkin and Lohrbach each lost a combined three games in winning at the Nos. 4 and 5 flights, respectively, and Ton earned a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the top of the lineup.
 
Thompson and Durham each worked their way through a challenging set as both had to win a frame that was extended into a tiebreaker.  Thompson won his first-set breaker by the score of 7-2 at No. 2 singles and Durham won a 7-3 breaker in set two at the No. 3 flight.
 
With half of the Navy team in Baltimore for the Loyola match, the other half stayed in Annapolis to take on Coppin State. 
 
The first doubles match to finish saw Andrew Hicks (So., Haddon Heights, N.J.) and Cameron Kirkpatrick (Sr., Menlo Park, Calif.) combine for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.  Navy clinched the doubles point when its No. 3 team of Matthew Lee (Jr., San Diego, Calif.) and Conners O'Brien (Fr., Rensselaer, N.Y.) registered a 6-3 victory.  The last match left on the courts ended with Romesh Kahatapitiya (So., Virginia Beach, Va.) and Jan Kjellberg (Fr., White Plains, N.Y.) recording a 6-4 win at the No. 1 flight.
 
Kirkpatrick made the score 2-0 when he won a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles, then O'Brien lost just one game in his No. 3 singles win to make the score 3-0.  Sam Vagner (Fr., Staten Island, N.Y.) clinched the match when he won, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5 singles.
 
Kahatapitiya won, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, Hicks posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and Kjellberg ended play on the day with his 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles.
 
Navy will close its regular season Saturday when the Mids travel to West Point, N.Y., for its annual match against Army.
