ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's tennis team (21-7) wraps up its 2018-19 home schedule against Georgetown (2-14) on Friday afternoon at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium starting at 3 p.m.
The Midshipmen enter the final home match of the season with a home record of 12-4 and Navy is set to play just their second home dual in the last month.
Last weekend, the Midshipmen went 1-1 in a pair of Patriot League matches where they lost a tight 4-3 decision against Boston University but rebounded to defeat Bucknell on the road, 6-1.
Navy's freshman pair of
Kacey Moore and
Annalise Klopfer have paced the Midshipmen in singles and doubles this season. Moore -- who was an honorable mention Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week earlier this week -- leads the team with a record of 25-2 in singles matches and has gone 16-1 in dual matches. Moore's 25 victories are four shy of
Amanda Keller's 29 singles victories in the 2014-15 season. Moore has won 15-straight singles matches with 12 coming in straight sets.
Overall, the Midshipmen have 11 players with double-digit singles wins this season with
Meghana Komarraju nearing the 20-win mark with 17 singles wins during her first collegiate season.
In doubles, Klopfer has a team-best 22-5 record with a team-best 11-3 record when paired with
Aimee Dervishian. Klopfer is two doubles wins away from tying the program record for doubles wins in a single season with 24.
Miranda Deng has also reached the 20-win mark in doubles competition with a 20-7 record.
Georgetown comes into the week on a 10-match skid and has slipped to 2-14 on the year. The Hoyas last victory came at home against Longwood, 6-1. Georgetown also earned a Big East victory in Indiana against Butler, 5-2. Elena De Santis leads the Hoyas with 12 singles victories and has a team-leading 12-12 singles mark. De Santis also leads the way with a 12-9 doubles record and she is the lone player for Georgetown to have a winning record in doubles matches.
Last season, the Midshipmen earned a 5-2 victory over the Hoyas in mid-March to extend Navy's winning streak to six matches and the streak went to 15-straight victories before the Patriot League Championship loss to Army.
First serve on Friday afternoon is set for 3 p.m. from the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium.
