"
Wilson Ayers and
Colin Taeschner did a really good today," head coach
Paul Kostacopoulos said. "We have a big week this week, we are a little thin right now and they did a really solid job for us when the team needed it. "On offense, we were opportunistic and took advantage of some mistakes and we were able to score some runs off those miscues."
Georgetown took the early lead with a run in the first inning, but the Midshipmen scored three runs in the bottom of the opening inning. Navy's three runs came on a play where Georgetown committed three errors the one play.
Liam Lowery (Sr., Williamsburg, Va.) reached on a dropped by fly ball in left field that allowed Biggers to score and after a pair of overthrows,

Liam Lowery came into score.
Evan Lowery drove in two runs in the second inning to push Navy ahead by four runs and the Midshipmen put the game out of reach in the third inning with a seven-run frame.
In the third inning, Georgetown committed four errors and Navy had four hits. Of the seven runs scored, just one was earned as four-straight errors from the Hoyas kept the third inning alive.
Evan Lowery picked another RBI in the fourth inning as Navy took a 13-1 lead into the fifth inning.
Georgetown pushed across a run in the fifth inning, but Navy countered with a pair to increase its lead to 13 runs with four innings to play. In the final two half-innings, Navy scored a run on a wild pitch and another run on a bases-loaded walk to put up 17 runs in the game. In the ninth inning, Navy committed two errors in the frame and the Hoyas scored an unearned run, but Navy closed out the game and picked up a 17-3 victory.
Navy's freshmen pair of
Wilson Ayers (Ashburn, Va.) and
Colin Taeschner (Port Republic, Md.) were the only two pitchers to throw for Navy in the win. Ayers (2-2) earned the win in six innings to start where he allowed just two runs on seven hits while he struck out seven. Taeschner threw the final innings to grab his first collegiate save striking out five and allowing an unearned run on two hits.
