McDonnell Earns Second Patriot League Women’s Golfer of the Week Honor

This is McDonnell's second league honor in three weeks

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – For the second time this spring, Christine McDonnell (So., Suwanee, Ga.) of the Navy women's golf team was named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week.
 
Earlier this season, McDonnell was named the league golfer of the week after helping the Midshipmen their first team title in program history.
 
This past weekend, McDonnell helped Navy finish tied for fourth at the Harvard Invitational at Orange County National in Winter Garden, Fla. She fired an 11-over par 227 to finished tied for 16th in the 48-golfer field. She was inside the top 10 after day with a 4-over par 76 and a 1-over par 73 on Saturday. She finished her tournament with a 6-over par 78 to round out the tournament on Sunday. 
 
McDonnell leads the team with an average of 75.4 in eight events and 21 rounds this season. The sophomore also has the lowest scoring average in program history at 76.1 in 41 rounds of golf at Navy. 
 
Following an off week this weekend, the Midshipmen are back in action on April 13-14 as they host the Navy Spring Invitational at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
