CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Christine McDonnell (Jr., Suwanee, Ga.) was named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
McDonnell shared this week's honor with Boston University's Kristen Min Ju Kim as both individuals finished tied for 19th at the Kiawah Island Classic. Along with earning her second honor of the season, McDonnell earned the league accolade for the fourth time in her career.
 
Over the weekend, McDonnell compiled a three-round score of 3-over par 219 at the Kiawah Island Classic, which is the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country where 53 teams and 254 golfers competed in the field.
 
McDonnell started the event with a 4-under par 68 to sit in a tie for second place heading into Monday's action. Her 68 is tied for the lowest round in school, which she originally set at the Navy Fall Classic in 2017. The native of Suwanee, Ga., ended the event with a 4-over par 76 and a 3-over par 75. McDonnell's 219 at the tournament also ranks third in program history.
 
On the season, McDonnell has recorded an average of 75.3 in 13 rounds over five events. She leads the team with two rounds under par this year and her career average of 75.7 is tops in the program record book.
 
Navy is back in action in less than two weeks for the Low Country Intercollegiate on March 14-15 at the Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
