ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy's trio of
Michael Coritz (Sr., Clifton, Va.),
Jared Leins (Jr., Raleigh, N.C.) and
Zach Stevens (So., Lexington, Mass.) represented the Midshipmen on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Baseball Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Coritz and Leins each earn the award for the second-straight season while Stevens earns the recognition for the first time in his career.

Coritz – who was a Second Team All-Patriot League honoree in 2018 – completed his career with a .283 batting average to go along with 84 runs scored, 122 hits and 52 RBIs. During his senior season, Coritz captained Navy en route to a 14-1 record during the shortened 2020 campaign. In the field, he started 124 games in his career out of 153 appearances. As Navy's starting shortstop over the past three seasons, Coritz finished his career with 170 putouts and 322 assists to go along with a .976 fielding percentage.Â

In the classroom, Coritz compiled a 3.46 grade-point average as a quantitative economics major. Coritz also service selected Navy Pilot during his senior year. During his four years at Navy, he was named to the Superintendent's List once, Commandant's List five times and Dean's List three times.

Leins joined Coritz on the 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team as the junior righthander has combined for a record of 8-4 in 34 appearances and 16 starts during his first three years at Navy. He has racked up a 3.58 ERA in 123-1/3 innings of work and struck out 138 batters in his career. Leins was also selected as a Freshman All-American in 2018 and he was named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team in 2019.Â

The junior is majoring in mechanical engineering and has compiled a 3.83 GPA. Leins has also been selected to the Superintendent's List once, Commandant's List five times and Dean's List four times.

During his freshman campaign in 2019, Stevens was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team while also being selected as a Freshman All-American. During his first two seasons at Navy, Stevens has compiled a .586 slugging percentage in 58 games. His slugging mark was anchored by a .935 mark in 2020. He has a career .335 average with 28 extra-base hits and 35 RBIs.

Stevens is currently majoring in operations research and has a 3.83 GPA. Over his first three semesters at Navy, he has been selected to the Commandant's List each time while being named to the Dean's List twice and Superintendent's List once.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.

Navy finished the shortened 2020 season with an overall record of 14-1 and the Midshipmen won the last 14 games of the regular season for the program's second-longest single-season winning streak in school history.
