CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The quartet of
Angelina Chan (Fr., Franklin, Tenn.),
Jacqueline Cherry (So., Ellicott City, Md.),
Morgan Frazier (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and
Shannon Gould (So., O'Fallon, Mo.) represented the Navy women's golf team as Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, the national organization announced this week.
Frazier has now earned All-American Scholar status in all four years at Navy and Gould earns the award for the second-straight season. Both Chan and Cherry earned the national recognition of the first time in their careers.
Each of the four individuals was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll at the end of last month. Frazier – who graduated this spring with a degree in operations research – completed her career with a 3.74 grade-point average. Cherry finished her sophomore year with a 3.74 GPA in operations research with Gould compiling a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 in physics. Chan completed her first collegiate season with a 3.67 GPA as an operations research major.
Navy's four All-American Scholars is most in program history after last season marked the first time the Midshipmen had multiple award winners.
In order to be named an All-American Scholar by WGCA, women's golf student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.
Overall, 1,401 women's collegiate golfers earned the national honor.
