ANNAPOLIS, Md. ––
Greg Summers (Jr., Ocoee, Fla.) from the men's basketball team has been selected as this week's Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Athlete of the Week, presented by Northrop Grumman.
Summers averaged 12.5 points, 10.5 rebounds. 6.0 assists and 1.5 blocks over the course of Navy's two games against Army.
He first led the Mids in points (17), rebounds (12) and assists (5) and shared the team lead with one steal in the team's 69-62 Star Game victory. It was his first double-double of the season and fourth of his career, and the 12 rebounds left him one shy of tying a career high. The next day, Summers paced Navy in rebounds (9) and assists (7), shared the team lead with two blocks and scored eight points in an 87-78 overtime loss to the Black Knights. The seven helpers were a career high.
