ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Junior safety
Taylor Robinson was named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his play in Navy's 34-30 win over UCF on Saturday.
Robinson, who was making just his second-career start, had a hand in two late turnovers to help Navy overcome a 30-17 fourth-quarter deficit on its way to a 34-30 win.
Robinson set up the go-ahead touchdown with a fumble recovery, the first of his career, with 8:28 left and then clinched the game with his first career interception in the end zone with 24 seconds left.
Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder (323 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in a 24-13 win over Notre Dame) was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Houston's Marcus Jones (averaged 18.8 yards on four punt returns in Houston's win over Tulsa) was once again the AAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
