Navy captured its seventh-consecutive Patriot League Presidents' Cup, and eighth in the last nine years, by winning six league championships during the 2020-21 academic year. Navy's current streak of seven overall titles ties Bucknell (1998-2004) for the most consecutive Presidents' Cup titles in league history.
The Mids accumulated 107.25 points with league titles in women's golf, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's rowing, men's tennis and women's soccer.
Navy won the Presidents' Cup despite the conference not holding championships in sports Navy is traditionally dominant in: men's and women's swimming & diving and men's and women's indoor track & field.
Navy was also unable to compete in the Patriot League Men's and Women's Cross Country championship due to a restriction of movement at the Academy and the women's basketball team did not compete in the Patriot League Tournament due to Covid-19.
Navy has not finished lower than second in each of the last 15 seasons and since 2003-04, the Mids have won 40 more conference championships (111) than the next closest school (Bucknell with 71).
Navy had never won the Presidents' Cup prior to Director of Athletics
Chet Gladchuk's arrival in 2001.
The Patriot League Presidents' Cup is awarded to the member institution with the highest cumulative sports point total for its Patriot League standings in sponsored men's and women's sports. Points are awarded based upon a combination of an institution's regular-season and tournament finishes in each sport.
If there is no Patriot League Championship, points are awarded based upon the final regular-season standings. If there is no regular-season competition and the champion is determined by a Patriot League Championship, points are awarded based upon final championship standings. If all teams compete in the Patriot League Championship and there is a regular-season competition, points are awarded based on an average of final regular-season standings and tournament finish. If all teams do not participate in the Patriot League Championship and there is a regular-season competition, points are awarded based upon an average of final season standings and tournament finish. For those teams not participating in the championship, the final regular-season standings are utilized.
