Navy Squash Rolls to Top-25 Win Over Dickinson

The 26th-ranked Navy squash team (11-7) won each of the first five matches en route to a 6-3 victory over #23 Dickinson (3-8) Friday evening at the Prager Family Squash Facility. After jumping out to a 4-0 lead with wins at No. 7 (Tommy Rankin), 6 (Lucas Spiro), 3 (Matt Wang) and 5 (Henry Sparkman), Navy secured its team victory by way of a five-game come-from-behind victory by Millen Randell (Jr / Chicago, Ill.) at the No. 2 position. Randell overcame an 8-6 deficit in the fifth game to earn an 11-9 victory to clinch the win for the Mids.

Match Highlights
• After dropping a heartbreaker in five games a week ago against Bowdoin, Tommy Rankin (Jr / Atlanta, Ga.) bounced back to lead the Mids off with a 3-0 sweep against Patrick Noonan.
• With his win, Rankin became the seventh Navy player to reach the 10-win mark this season.
• Freshmen Matt Wang (Malvern, Pa.) and Lucas Spiro (Buffalo, N.Y.) put together back-to-back wins to give Navy a 3-0 advantage. Wang captured his team-best 13th win of the season in a three-game sweep over Mark Naguib, while Spiro regrouped after dropping his first game to Aidan Ray and won the next three to earn the victory.
• Second-year standout Henry Sparkman (Darien, Conn.) showed grit in winning back-to-back games by a two-point margin before taking the match in three over Osuman Imoro.
• Following Randell's win, Navy would win just one of its final four - a four-game victory by Gus Prager (Sr / New York, N.Y.). After winning his first two games, Prager gave way to Samuel Knipp in the third, 11-7, before roaring back to take the match in four with an 11-8 win.
• Navy was back at full strength after playing its previous two matches down its No. 1 (Bowdoin) and 3 players (Drexel).
• Navy is now 11-0 against Dickinson all-time, including 8-0 in matches played in Annapolis.
