CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The doubles team of Aniketh Ayinala (Fr., Charlotte, N.C.) and Gavin Segraves (Sr., Charlottesville, Va.) won three matches to highlight the efforts of the Navy men's tennis team at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Regional Championship held this week in Charlottesville, Va.

The format for the event, in both singles and doubles, featured players starting in the Bronze bracket and advancing on to the Silver bracket, with those qualifiers competing to join others in the top-tier Gold bracket.

Ayinala and Segraves posted a pair of wins in the Bronze draw to qualify for the next-stage Silver draw.  The pair then won an 8-6 decision over Temple's tandem of Hussein El Tawil and Henrique Petiz in a first-round match.  That sent the Mids into a match against Georgetown's Kieran Foster and Zamaan Moledino, with the winner moving on to the Gold bracket.  The match went into a tiebreaker where the Hoyas defeated the Mids, 7-3.

Additionally, Ayinala won a consolation singles match in the Bronze draw, and Segraves won a consolation match in the Silver bracket.

Navy will be back on the courts Nov. 4-6 when it plays at the Wake Forest Invite.
