DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) recently announced the all-academic team for Men's Gymnastics and Navy's squad was at the forefront of the release with 14 honorees. In the first year that this award has been given out by the conference, the Mids saw over half of its 24-man team recognized for its academic prowess. The honor requires student-athletes to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and includes freshmen who reached the required 3.0 GPA during their first academic semester in the Fall.
Navy's 14-man list of honorees consists of seniors

Brendan Fritz (Quantitative Economics),
Henry Greene (Biochemistry),
Dhiren Lutchman (Ocean Engineering) and
Josh Williams (Quantitative Economics); junior
Connor Van Loo (Robotics & Control Engineering); sophomores
Syam Buradagunta (Operations Research),
Ian Dinmore (Chemistry),
Erik Engelke (Quantitative Economics) and
Matthew Rosendahl (Honors-Robotics & Control Engineering); and freshmen
William Champagne (Operations Research),
Sabastian Gordon (Quantitative Economics),
Vishal Mandava (Operations Research) and
RJ Spears (Chemistry). Of note, Dinmore stands first in the Class of 2024 in Academic Order of Merit for his perfect 4.0 GPA through three semesters at the Naval Academy.
Not just high achievers in the classroom, Navy has defended its team title at the ECAC Championship four straight times, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Ranked seventh in the nation, the Mids will test themselves this weekend on the grandest stage at the NCAA Championship in Norman, Oklahoma. Navy is scheduled to compete in the second session of Friday's Qualifying Meet action as the seven-seed in a pod with No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 10 Air Force and No. 11 Army. The top-three scoring teams from that 8 p.m. session will advance to the team finals on Saturday night. Additionally, the top individual scorers from non-advancing teams will also have the chance to compete on Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m. in the event finals.
