ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team (26-10, 6-0) won all but two sets in earning 7-0 road victories over Colgate (8-9, 2-3) and Norfolk State (2-14) on Saturday.

Navy remained undefeated in Patriot League play with its win over Colgate in a match played in Syracuse, N.Y.  The three doubles teams for the Mids combined for an 18-7 advantage in games won to take the 1-0 lead.

Derrick Thompson (Sr., Towson, Md.) made the score 2-0 when he posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.  Luke Garner (Fr., Arnold, Md.) followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 flight.  Jack Dabek (Sr., Dublin, Ohio) assured Navy of the victory with his 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 5 flight.

Additionally, Sasha Panyan (So., Lutherville, Md.) posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 4, Finn Garner (Jr., Arnold, Md.) registered a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3 and Gavin Segraves (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) won, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) at No. 2

Norfolk State didn't enter either a No. 3 doubles team or a No. 6 singles player in its lineup in the match played in Norfolk, Va.  That meant the Mids had to win just one doubles match followed by only two singles matches to come away with the victory.

Cy McLeod (Fr., Augusta, Ga.) and Conners O'Brien (Sr., Rensselaer, N.Y.) combined for a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles to give the Mids the doubles point.  Jan Kjellberg (Sr., White Plains, N.Y.) won a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 5 singles to make the score 3-0.  The match-clinching point was recorded by Sam Vagner (Sr., Staten Island, N.Y.) with his 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.

Also winning singles matches were Jack McBride (Sr., Chapel Hill, N.C.) at No. 1 (7-5, 4-6, 1-0 [10-6]), Jake Fishkin (Sr., Baltimore, Md.) at No. 2 (6-2, 6-1) and O'Brien at No. 3 (6-0, 6-2).

Navy will play three matches in this, the final week of the regular season.  The Mids will play host to Loyola on Wednesday, play at Harford Community College on Wednesday and play host to Army on Saturday.
