Navy Advances to Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Semifinal with 23-13 Win Over American

The Midshipmen posted a 23-13 victory over the Eagles in the Patriot League Quarterfinal.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's lacrosse team (14-4) advanced to the semifinals of the Patriot League Championship on Sunday afternoon with a 23-13 victory over American (9-9) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. With the win, Navy will take on No. 2 seed Army in the semifinals at Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

"It was special to be able to come back to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for one more game this year, particularly for our seniors," head coach Cindy Timchal said after the game. "I am very proud of the seniors and the entire team for how they pulled together for this win. American is very good team who is led by several players with a lot of experience. They really showed up tough. For us, it was a collective team effort. We always feel we can do better. We had a tough week having to play at Loyola and turnaround and play today, but I am proud of the team for being a little bit tired, but still willing to fight for Navy women's lacrosse."
