The team has two crews underway in New England for the month of July.  Senior Joey Zaladonis is the skipper of the Farr 40 CHAOS, while senior Patrick Michalik is skipper of Fsrr 40s, ZEPHYR.  The boats sailed to Newport, R.I. in early July and competed in The New York Yacht Club's Race Week where Michalik and his ZEPHYR crew finished 9th in class. In the Queen's Cup, Zaladonis and his CHAOS crew finished 6th out of 24 entries.

The two crews then sailed to Essex, Conn. to compete in the Essex YC Challenge Regatta.  Fresh from their experience in Newport and facing a smaller fleet of 8 boats, the Navy crews finished first and second overall with Michalik'a ZEPHYR team taking the win.  They then competed in the North Cove Yacht Club's Outer Light Regatta where they again took first and second overall out of 8 boats. This time,  it was Zaladonis and his crew who beat out Michalik's crew on a tie breaker with the boats finishing seconds apart in each race. 

the two crews are currently in Sea Cliff, N.Y. for the 200 mile Around Long Island Race which started on Thursday in the Hudson River.
