ANNAPOLIS, Md. – This week's Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Athlete-of-the-Week Award, presented by Northrop Grumman, is shared by a pair of Midshipmen with water polo's Kiefer Black and football's Colin Ramos earning the accolade.
 
Black helped lead Navy water polo to a runner-up finish at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Tournament, while Ramos helped the football team to its FBS-leading third shutout of the season, a 10-0 win against East Carolina.

Black was named Rookie of the Tournament, as well as First Team All-Tournament for his efforts in pool. The freshman led the team with 18 points on team highs in both goals (10) and assists (8). Black opened the tournament with a team-best five goals and three assists for eight points to help Navy to a 19-11 victory over Johns Hopkins. In the semifinal against Bucknell, he scored a goal and added an assist for two points in a 10-9 win to advance to the Championship Game. In the Championship against No. 15 Fordham, Black led the team with four goals and four assists for eight total points as the Mids finished as the runner-up, dropping a 12-10 decision.
 
Colin Ramos, Football
Ramos earned American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after he helped Navy to its FBS-leading third shutout of the season, a 10-0 win against East Carolina. Ramos registered his fourth straight game with double figure tackles as he had 10 stops and 1.5 tackles for a loss as the Mids held their opponent without a touchdown for the second straight game. Ramos ranks second in The American in tackles per game with 8.8 per contest.
