Keith Puryear Post-Match Comments
"These were two good battles for the ladies today. South Dakota forced us to battle back after losing the doubles, as Emily and Sam executed well to get us one win in the doubles, but we could not gather the other. Coach Pedergnana and I were pleased with the resolve showed to right the ship in singles, as Emily played a clean match at the No. 1 spot, as did Hanna and Sylvia at No. 6 and No. 5 to get us on the board. Sam and Sia followed suit in three-setters to secure the win. Kate lost a tough three-setter at No. 3 but showed great grit to fight back throughout."
"Against Niagara, we knew we had to be ready to compete hard again and we did. Doubles was clean, with us doing a great job of executing our game plans, and we did well to use that momentum to stretch the lead in singles. We will take a well-earned rest now and start preparation for the Patriot League portion of the season once we return from Florida."
