ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After notching pair of non-conference home wins last weekend to extend its winning streak to eight matches, the Navy women's tennis team (17-4, 3-0 PL) is set for two Patriot League matches to close out the regular season this week, heading to Loyola Maryland (8-11, 2-3 PL) on Wednesday, April 12 before hosting Boston University (13-4, 2-0 PL) in the regular season finale on Saturday, April 15.
The Midshipmen and Greyhounds will square off at 3 p.m. on Wednesday from the McClure Tennis Center at Ridley Athletic Complex, while the Mids welcome the Terriers to Annapolis for an 11 a.m. contest on Saturday to wrap up regular-season league play.
Closing the Book
This week's contests mark the end of the Mids' 23-match regular season schedule, with the Patriot League Tournament coming up on April 28-30 … Navy's current eight-match winning streak that started on March 3 ties its season-best win streak from Jan. 21 to Feb. 18, with a loss at Liberty, a victory against Howard and a loss to Delaware sandwiched between the two winning streaks … The Mids have gone just 4-3 on the road this spring but have compiled a 9-1 home record, while also posting a perfect 4-0 mark in neutral-site matches.

Navy was able to pull out a pair of hard-fought victories last weekend, defeating Georgetown by a 6-1 score on April 7 before knocking off LIU, 4-2, the next day to cap off captain

With her two singles wins and two doubles victories last weekend, Tannenbaum etched her name in the program's single-season history books, as Tannenbaum is now tied for the program record for combined wins in a season at 48 (27 singles, 21 doubles) … Tannenbaum's 48 combined wins this season matched Logan Antill's 48-win mark from 2013, when Antill claimed 25 singles matches and 23 doubles contests … With 27 singles wins on the campaign, Tannenbaum also sits tied for second in single-season program history, matching former teammate
Kacey Moore's 27 singles victories in 2019.
Scouting Loyola
The Greyhounds are 4-2 in their last six matches, a span that saw them defeat league opponents Holy Cross, 4-0, and Colgate, 4-3, over the past three weeks … After facing the Mids, Loyola will have three regular-season matches left, including an April 15 against league foe Lafayette … Christine Richiez has posted a team-high 10 singles wins in dual matches and has gone 3-1 in league singles action … 2022 All-Patriot League Second Teamer Olivia Tracey has handled the bulk of No. 1 singles play, going 6-11 in the top spot … Tracey and Liza Tankimovich have combined to notched a perfect 7-0 doubles record, while Richiez and Lauren Manwiller have teamed up to go 8-3 in doubles play, including a 4-1 mark in league doubles competition.

Coming off a 6-1 victory against Army last week, the Terriers have now won their last four matches, including a 4-3 win over No. 49 Brown on March 18 … Boston's last three regular-season matches are all league contests, as the Terriers will stay in Annapolis on April 16 to play Lehigh before heading to Worcester for an April 22 battle against Holy Cross … The Terriers broke into the ITA national team rankings on March 21, entering at No. 73 before sliding down to No. 75 last week and falling out of the national poll on Tuesday … Shelly Yaloz, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Week, and Victoria Carlsten are tied for the team lead with 18 singles victories, as Yaloz has posted a 10-5 mark at the No. 1 singles spot and has gone 1-2 against ranked competition … Two Boston pairings have team-best 8-3 doubles record, as Yaloz and Michelle Kleynerman have partnered to match the production of the duo of Carlsten and Navya Vadlamudi.
