ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy rugby teams will participate in the 7s Collegiate Championship Friday through Sunday at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Washington, D.C.
The women's team earned the No. 2 seed in the Premier Cup west bracket and will face No. 7 seed Texas A&M in the first round at 11:12 a.m. The tournament will be the final competition for the women's team this season.
The men's team earned the No. 7 seed in the Premier Cup west bracket and will face No. 2 seed Brown in the first round at 3:14 p.m.

Men's Tournament Format
The Men's Premier Cup will feature 32 teams divided into the east, west, midwest and south brackets. A team needs to finish with a record of 5-0 to win the Premier Cup national title.
The 16 clubs eliminated in the first round will be placed in the Survivors Bowl bracket.
The eight programs that lose in the second round of the Premier Cup will compete in the Contender Plate bracket.
The eight teams that fall in the opening round of the Survivors Bowl will battle in the Challenge Shield bracket.
The men's team will be competing in its first 7s event of the season. A reserve team will represent Navy due to the main squad competing in the CRAA Division I-A Elite 15s National Championship against Cal on Saturday, May 6.
"The Collegiate Rugby Championships offers our younger squad members an opportunity to receive some important experience," said director of rugby
Gavin Hickie. "Most of the players competing have never played 7s before and this will allow them to develop their rugby skills and have some fun in the process."
The men's field includes six additional programs from the Rugby East Conference (Kutztown, Mary Washington, Mount St. Mary's, Notre Dame College, Queens and St. Bonaventure), as well as service academy rival Air Force.
Women's Tournament Format
The Women's Premier Cup will feature 16 teams separated into in the east and west brackets. A team needs to win four matches to be crowned national champions.
The eight squads eliminated in the opening round will be placed in the Survivors Bowl bracket.
The four clubs that lose in the second round of the Premier Cup will compete in the Contender Plate bracket.
The four clubs that fall in the opening round of the Survivors Bowl will battle in the Challenge Shield bracket.
The women's tournament includes National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) members Army and Brown. Navy will begin competing in the NIRA next season.
Women's Rugby Last Time Out (Legacy 7s)
The Mids last competed in the Legacy 7s on April 16 at the Prusmack Rugby Center. Navy's three teams posted a combined record of 7-3 in the tournament.
Navy's No. 1 team placed second with a 2-2 record. The Mids dropped their opening match to the West Chester No. 1 team (5-0), but rebounded with wins against the Penn State No. 1 team (19-12) and the Mount St. Mary's No. 1 team (12-7) to earn a spot in the tournament championship. Navy fell in the finals to Mount St. Mary's (19-5).
Siena Hall led the No. 1 squad with 15 points on three tries.
Navy's No. 2 unit posted a 3-1 record. The Mids won all three matchups against the No. 2 teams in the field and outscored them, 51-5. Navy shut out West Chester (10-0) and Penn State (12-0) before defeating Mount St. Mary's (29-5). The Mids concluded the day with a loss to the No. 1 Penn State team (36-0).
Navy's No. 3 squad finished with a 2-0 record with wins against the West Chester No. 2 team (32-12) and the Penn State No. 2 team (28-15).
