The Navy Junior Earns Academic All-League Honors for the First Time in her Career

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy junior Stella Ribaudo was one of six women's tennis student-athletes named to the 2022-23 Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league office announced Friday.

The No. 2 singles player for the Midshipmen, Ribaudo takes home academic all-league honors for the first time in her career, while Navy has now had at least one Mid make the last six Academic All-Patriot League Teams dating back to 2017.

A two-year starter for the Mids, Ribaudo totaled a 17-18 singles record and 12-9 doubles mark this season, including a 2-1 singles record in Patriot League regular-season play. Posting a 1-1 record against ranked opponents, Ribaudo had the biggest individual singles win of the season when she defeated No. 75 Petra Sedlackova of Alabama in three sets, also grabbing a win in Navy's 4-2 victory over service academy rival Air Force.

In the classroom, RIbaudo holds a 3.4 GPA while majoring in mathematics, garnering a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022 while taking home 2022 ITA Scholar Athlete distinction in 2022. The junior has also been named to the Superintendent's List once and the Commandant's List three times during her time at the Academy.
