DANBURY, Conn. - Senior Syam Buradagunta (Westborough, Mass.) had the Navy men's gymnastics program at the forefront of Tuesday's Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) awards announcement as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week. The senior was recognized for his efforts in four different events over the weekend at the 2024 West Point Open.

Suiting up in Friday's team competition at the West Point Open, Buradagunta finished top-three on the floor exercise (first place with 14.25 points), pommel horse (second place with 14.2 points) and the high bar (third place with 13.4 points). His floor exercise performance was especially dominant as he finished 0.25 points clear of Friday's runner-up. In Saturday's event finals, Buradagunta won the floor exercise final with a 13.8 score, 0.55 points ahead of second place. Additionally, he grabbed silver with a 12.9 on the pommel horse and bronze on the high bar with a 12.8 effort.

Buradagunta is now a three-time ECAC weekly award winner as he took home a pair of rookie of the week nods back in 2021.

Buradagunta and his Navy teammates will kick off the home portion of its 2024 schedule on Saturday with the Navy Open.
