Five Starting Notes
1 – Navy is playing Campbell for the second year in a row, the fourth time overall and the first time in Annapolis since the first game in the series was played during the 1983-84 season.

2 – Navy was a founding member of the CAA, which Campbell joined last season.

3 – The last time Navy played host to a team from North Carolina was ECU in the 2019 Veterans Classic.  Campbell will be the fifth opponent and Sunday will be the eighth game for the Mids against a team from North Carolina in Alumni Hall since it opened in 1992-92.

4 – Campbell graduate student Nolan Dorsey is the younger brother of 2023 Navy graduate Patrick Dorsey.

5 – Navy will face Elon from the CAA on Nov. 30 and William & Mary on Dec. 29.  The Mids are the only Patriot League team Campbell will play this season.

Game Information
•    Navy plays the first of two games in three days Sunday when it plays host to Campbell at 1 p.m. in Alumni Hall.
•    ESPN+ will carry a video stream of the game.

Attending the Game
•    Only those vehicles driven by someone with a Department of Defense (DoD)-approved identification card will be allowed onto the USNA.
•    Fans without DoD approved vehicle access to the USNA must park outside of The Yard.  The simplest way to do this is to park ($10 per vehicle) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401).  Enter the blue / west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue.  The free fan shuttle bus will leave from and return to the Blue Angel jet.  Fan shuttle bus hours begin one hour before tip and end one hour after the conclusion of the game.
•    Whether a visitor rides the shuttle bus or walks through one of the USNA gates, everyone ages 18 and over must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license, student I.D., or a government issued passport). Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult. 

A Look Ahead
•    Game four of a five-game homestand will be Tuesday night (5:30 p.m. start) when the Mids welcome Quinnipiac to Annapolis.
•    The Bobcats have posted a 1-2 record this year prior to a Friday game against Maine.
•    Quinnipiac, which placed first in the 2024-25 MAAC Preseason Poll, has lost to Yale, defeated WPI and lost to St. John's this season. 

A Look Back
•    A fast start by Rider gave the visiting Broncs an early lead which they maintained over the remainder of a 90-79 victory over the Mids.
•    Rider used a 10-0 run to take a 17-10 lead eight minutes into the game.  Navy cut the margin down to four points at 26-22, but the Broncs quickly expanded the gap out to 31-22 and 34-24.
•    Navy closed to within eight points early in the second half, but could not climb any closer until it was an 82-78 game with 41 seconds left to play.
•    The Broncs made 8-8 free throw attempts down the stretch to seal the win.
•    Rider shot 58 percent from the field in the first half and made 7-10 three-point attempts.  The Broncs ended the game shooting 53 percent, made 10-19 triples and were 26-32 from the foul line.
•    The Broncs also held a 21-6 edge in second chance points.
•    Austin Benigni led Navy with 23 points and Aidan Kehoe scored a career-best 17 points.

Campbell Preview
•    Campbell compiled a 14-18 record last season placed ninth in its first season as a member of the 14-team Coastal Athletic Association with an 8-10 record.
•    The Camels finished in 13th place in the 2024-25 CAA Preseason Poll.
•    Campbell has posted wins this season over NCAA Division III Pfeiffer (96-49) and NCAA Division II Newberry (83-40), with its losses coming at Virginia (65-56) and at home to Saint Francis (65-64).
•    Campbell graduate student Nolan Dorsey is the younger brother of 2023 Navy graduate Patrick Dorsey.  Nolan played four games against the Mids when he attended Holy Cross during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.  He totaled 21 points and nine rebounds in those games.

Series History
•    Navy holds a 2-1 advantage in the young series with Campbell.
•    The Camels defeated the Mids, 59-48, in the 2023-24 season opening game for both teams.
•    The prior two games took place during the 1983-84 (at Navy) and 1984-85 (at Campbell) seasons.

•     Navy was a founding member of the Colonial Athletic
    Association, which became the Coastal Athletic Association last year.
•    The league was known as the ECAC South Conference for four seasons (1981-82 through 1984-85) before becoming the CAA in 1985-86.
•    The Mids shared the 1985 CAA regular season title and won it outright in 1986 and '87.
•     Navy played in three-straight conference tournament
    title games (1984-86), winning the 1985 and '86 editions
    of the event to advance to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. The '86 team reached the Elite Eight.
•    The Mids competed in the affiliation for 10 seasons, with their last being the 1990-91 campaign.
•    Navy compiled a 61-59 record in ECAC South / CAA regular season games and a 12-7 record in postseason tournaments.

The Flying Mids
•     Navy is trying to play at a faster pace this season than in the past.
•    Using the adjusted tempo statistic (possessions per 40 minutes) on KenPom.com, the Mids are playing at their fastest pace during the Ed DeChellis-coached era (69.9 possessions a game).
•    Campbell is averaging 68.1 possessions a game.
