Under Armour and the Naval Academy Athletic Association Extend Partnership in a Multiyear Agreement

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-- The Naval Academy Athletic Association and Under Armour announced today the extension of their partnership in a multiyear agreement.  Under Armour has been the official outfitter of Navy's varsity intercollegiate athletic programs since 2014.

The Naval Academy Athletics Association has one of the largest athletic programs in the country with 36 varsity intercollegiate teams.  Their commitment to developing Midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically, perfectly aligns with Under Armour's grit and determination to make athletes better.

"We are incredibly honored to continue to outfit Navy Athletics. Their student athletes display the highest level of dedication in the sports world, a focus we've had since our founding almost 30 years ago," Sean Eggert, SVP Global Sports Marketing. "As a brand rooted in performance products, we are able to give the Midshipmen an edge to feel, look and perform their best. And as the future leaders of America, we proudly support our service members working toward a stronger, safer world."

"On behalf of 36 varsity sport programs and 1,400 teammates, our immeasurable gratitude to Kevin Plank, his staff and the entire Under Armour enterprise for this historic commitment to Navy Athletics, said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk. "Every varsity athlete at Navy will continue to be the beneficiaries of Under Armour equipment and apparel that represents the cutting edge in competitive technology and active sportswear. Our athletes deserve the most innovative product in the business and our partnership ensures they will take the fields of competition with pride and confidence in the look, style and performance of the industry's best."

Through groundbreaking innovation, Under Armour will ensure that the Naval Academy's student athletes, coaches, and fans have access to industry-leading apparel, footwear and accessories. The unique designs available to Navy Athletics can be showcased in the 2024 Army-Navy game uniform that will honor the Jolly Rogers at the 125th playing of the Army-Navy Game. The Jolly Rogers were established in 1943 and are the most lethal and history-rich squadron in all of Naval Aviation and continue to exemplify the traditions and excellence of professionalism of the United States Navy. The uniform design pulls in features of the Jolly Rogers aircraft, callsign and tagline: Fear the Bones.

About the Naval Academy Athletic Association

The Naval Academy Athletic Association, founded in 1891 by Robert Means Thompson, is a 501C3 non-profit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the athletic contests of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy.

Through an intercollegiate athletic program that is one of the largest in the country, and a highly organized club sports program and intramural sports program, each midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at a level commensurate with their abilities. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.
