ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Sophomore quarterback Braxton Woodson has been named to the Davey O'Brien's Great 8 Quarterbacks of the Week and is the NAAA Athlete of the Week presented by Northrop Grumman for his performance on Friday at East Carolina.  The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week, selected from the Great 8 Davey list, will be revealed Tuesday 12 noon.

Woodson, making just his second-career start, led Navy (8-3, 6-2 in the AAC) to 34 second-half points as the Mids handled the Pirates 34-20 on Black Friday. Woodson finished the day with a career-high 125 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on just 15 carries, while completing 12 of his 19 pass attempts for a career-high 165 yards and a touchdown.

With the win, Navy secured third place in the final American Athletic Conference standings after being picked 11th in the preseason.  Navy finished second despite playing five teams that finished in the top half of the league.  Navy was also the only team in the FBS to play seven of its final nine regular season games away from home.

Navy will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 14 in America's Game, the 125th playing of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA.  Kickoff is set for 3 PM and the game will be televised by CBS and broadcast on the Navy Radio Network as well as national radio on Westwood One.

The winner of the Army-Navy game will take home the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy, which is presented annually to the winner of the football competition among the three major service academies and is named in honor of the President of the United States.

This year's Army-Navy game marks the first time since 2017, and just the eighth time since the CIC Trophy has been in existence (started in 1972), that both teams can win the CIC Trophy with a win.
