ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's tennis team (16-5, 0-0 PL) is set to open Patriot League play this week, playing three home matches in the span of four days.
Starting league action Thursday afternoon, the Midshipmen will host Loyola (5-2, 0-0 PL) in a 2 p.m. match at the Tose Family Tennis Center. Navy then plays Lehigh (10-3, 1-0 PL) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, while Sunday's contest against Bucknell (8-7, 0-1 PL) will serve as the Mids' Senior Day, with opening serve set for noon.
Tannenbaum Chasing Records
No. 1 singles player and junior
Emily Tannenbaum has been near-dominant this spring, posting a 13-1 singles record in dual matches … Now sitting alone at third in program history with 80 career singles wins, Tannenbaum needs nine more to catch Amanda Keller for second … Sitting third in program history with 141 career combined wins as well, Tannenbaum needs 10 more to catch Erin Snook for second … With 27 singles wins this season, Tannenbaum is two shy of matching her program-record 29 singles victories from last season … With 31 career victories as the Mids' top singles player, Tannenbaum needs two more wins at the No. 1 singles spot to match Keller for the career program record … With a doubles win over Marquette, Tannenbaum matched Snook's 61 doubles victories to rank fifth in program history.
Puryear Reaches Another Milestone
Just weeks after achieving one milestone, head coach
Keith Puryear reached another career milestone with the March 2 win over Drexel … After notching his 200th home win with the Mids on Feb. 17, Puryear earned his 500th victory as a women's head coach by defeating Drexel, as he collected 215 wins as the UMBC women's coach and now has 290 victories at Navy … Including his time as UMBC's men's coach, Puryear now has 733 career coaching wins.
Last Time Out
Navy posted a 3-1 record during its spring break trip, playing all four matches at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. … After being defeated by No. 40 Princeton, 7-0, to start the trip, Navy quickly responded with a 4-3 win over Butler despite losing the doubles point, as sophomore

Holding a 5-2 record, the Greyhounds played a trio of matches last week, falling to Howard, 4-3, before posting a 7-0 win over Coppin State and losing to Villanova, 5-2 … An All-Patriot League Second Team selection two seasons ago, Olivia Tracey returns for Loyola, entering the week with a 7-7 singles record … Christine Richiez is 9-7 in singles play, while Anna Rico is 4-1 as a singles player.
Scouting Lehigh
Sitting at 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League, the Mountain Hawks posted a 4-0 win over Holy Cross last Tuesday to start league play … Hamsa Javagal returns for Lehigh after taking home First-Team All-Patriot League honors last season … Maggie Forkner was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Feb. 20.
Scouting Bucknell
The Bison have compiled an 8-7 record so far, going 0-1 in league play after suffering a 7-0 loss to Boston University back in January … Abby Platt paces the team with a 15-5 singles record, while Whitney King is tied with her for the team lead in singles wins at 15-7 … Platt and King are 19-3 as a doubles pairing … King was an All-Patriot League First Team pick last season.

Navy is 15-0 in the all-time series with Loyola, beating the Greyhounds seven times in Annapolis … The Mids are also 15-0 against Lehigh all-time, winning seven of those matches in Annapolis … Through 18 matches, Navy holds a 16-2 over Bucknell, claiming the last 16 meetings between the teams.
