Tenlea Radack & Maeve Swick Garner PL All-Academic Team Honors

Duo selected by league SIDs for success on the water and in the classroom

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League announced it 2024 All-Academic Team on Thursday and the Navy women's rowing team was at the forefront of the release as the Mids tied for the league-lead with a pair of honorees. The duo of Maeve Swick (Sr., Annapolis, Md.) and Tenlea Radack (Jr., Washington, D.C.) led the Navy squad as integral parts of the first varsity eight crew, as well as in the classroom as studious members of the brigade. Swick and Radck are now two-time honorees after both earning this accolade in 2023.

Swick picks up her second honor from the Patriot League this week as she was recognized on Tuesday for her work as the first varsity eight's coxswain with a spot on the All-PL Second Team. Swick and Radack worked in direct tandem at last Friday's Patriot League Championship as Swick called out orders for the V8, while Radack was in charge of setting the pace from the stroke seat. Along with the rest of the first varsity crew, Navy finished runner-up to Boston University in the grand final on Friday afternoon by 3.446 seconds, 6:42.028 to 6:45.474.

In the classroom, Radack is an honors mathematics major with a 3.98 GPA. Currently, ranked top-20 in the Naval Academy's Overall Order of Merit for the Class of 2025, Radack was recently selected as a 2024-25 USNA Trident Scholar and will study "Terao's Conjecture: Vector Fields vs. Matroids" during the upcoming academic year. Swick is also a high achiever in her studies as a quantitative economics major. Selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2023, Swick will graduate from the academy with a 3.82 GPA and will commission as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy.

Eight of the nine Patriot League women's rowing member institutions were represented on this year's Academic All-Patriot League team. Boston University, Bucknell and Navy each had two student-athletes represented, while Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland and MIT had one honoree apiece.

Boston University senior Anna Dechantsreiter (Philosophy & Neuroscience | 3.96 GPA) was named the Patriot League Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
