Annie Taylor, a senior from the Navy women's track and field team, was selected as the 2024 Patriot League Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Voting for the honor was conducted by the athletics communications staff from each of the League's member institutions.
Taylor is the ninth United States Naval Academy women's student-athlete to receive the prestigious Leaguewide award, joining Nicole Aunapu Mann (women's soccer, 1999), Kate McFarlane (women's soccer, 2002), Kirsten Andrews (women's track and field, 2007), Kelly Zahalka (women's swimming and diving, 2008), Lizzie Barnes (women's soccer, 2009), Beth Reed (women's soccer, 2010), Brigid Byrne (women's track and field and cross country, 2013) and Ellen Bradford (women's swimming and diving, 2016).
She is also the ninth women's track and field student-athlete to garner the accolade, with Bucknell's Christine Bendzinski most recently winning the award in 2018.

*Taylor graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a 4.00 cumulative GPA and a degree in mathematics.
*She repeated as the Patriot League indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon gold medalist during the 2023-24 academic year, also helping the Mids distance medley relay take first place at this year's indoor championship.
*The Nashville, Tenn. native received the Vice Admiral Lawrence Sword for Women, presented annually to the woman of the Naval Academy graduating class declared by the Association's Athletic Council to have personally excelled in athletics during her years of varsity competition.
*She is a two-time Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a four-time Academic All-Patriot League selection, collecting two honors for indoor and two for outdoor.
*She ranked fifth in the Naval Academy's Overall Order of Merit out of a class of 1,061 students.
Taylor helped the Mids collect eight Patriot League Women's Track and Field titles (four indoor and four outdoor) and eight wins over Army during her decorated career in Annapolis. She is a six-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree with one second-team nod.
Each sport-specific Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winner is eligible to collect the end-of-the-year honor. The 2023-24 women's field included Emily Cimino (Lehigh softball), Anna Dechantsreiter (Boston University women's rowing), Tori DiCarlo (Navy women's lacrosse), Stephanie Lee (Navy women's golf), Bronagh Power-Cassidy (Holy Cross women's basketball), Abby Shadwick (Colgate volleyball), Vera Sjoberg (Boston University cross country/track and field), Kaitlin Tan (Boston University women's tennis), Brooke Tracey (Bucknell women's soccer), Bryn Underwood (American field hockey) and Mimi Watts (American women's swimming and diving).
