Naval Academy Director of Athletics
Chet Gladchuk announced today the launching of the Navy Letterwinners Association. The mission of the Navy Letterwinners Association is to connect past varsity and club sports athletes to the United States Naval Academy, and to each other, by honoring their accomplishments and providing meaningful engagement in support of Navy Athletics.
"Under Rob Friedrich's leadership, we have established a full speed ahead approach to engaging with thousands of alumni who have represented the blue and gold over decades on the fields of competition," said Gladchuk. "Bringing our letterwinners home through enhanced regular communication and programming will effectively bridge our storied past with today's midshipmen. This initiative will definitely complement our vision for exciting future relationships and an amazing network of resources. Full speed ahead!"
Â
The Navy Letterwinners Association will be sending out monthly e-newsletters to all Navy alumni athletes and will have a designated page on navysports.com.
Â
It will be a one-stop source for sport-specific alumni updates, events and ways to connect with Navy Athletics. Friedrich is working with an advisory group of alumni athletes to help create the best engagement for our Navy letterwinners.
Â
"With the support of the athletic department and the alumni association, we are excited to offer a great new way to stay connected with your fellow letterwinners and support our Midshipmen athletes, " said Friedrich. "We will help host sport-specific alumni events, offer a premier letterwinner tailgating experience and keep you in touch with Navy Athletics. We hope you enjoy our monthly newsletter where we honor former Navy letterwinners and highlight our current student-athletes and coaches."
