DALLAS (FWAA) – Navy is the winner of the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week for Week 7 as Blake Horvath sprinted 51 yards to the end zone and followed it up with a two-point conversion pass to Alex Tecza to rally for a 32-31 win over Temple, as selected by the All-America Committee of the Football Writers Association of America.
Navy trailed 17-7 at halftime and 24-14 in the third quarter before staging the late rally for the dramatic one-point win. Down 31-24 and facing 4th-and-1 with 46 seconds remaining, Horvath busted through the middle and ran untouched into the end zone, capping a 5-play, 75-yard drive.
Then the Midshipmen went for two and the win. With 39 seconds left in regulation, Horvath connected with Alex Tecza to complete the comeback and keep the Midshipmen unbeaten at 6-0.
The senior quarterback finished the day with 155 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 19 carries, while throwing for 141 yards and a touchdown. The performance earned him the American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week honor.
The 2025 season marks the first year the FWAA has presented the award under its new name, the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week, spotlighting the single most decisive play from the weekend's games. Each winning team receives a custom Cheez-It care package delivered to its campus.
