ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The four members of the Navy women's tennis team's junior class are set to head to San Diego, Calif., this weekend to take part in the fifth annual San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic.

Manci Pal will play in singles and doubles action Friday-Sunday, Oct. 3-5 at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Complex at the University of San Diego, while the Navy men's team will also be sending four players for the men's tournament.
The Tournament
The Midshipmen are joined at the event by the host Toreros, who ended last season ranked No. 39 by the ITA, as well as Fresno State and Loyola Marymount on the women's side … Women's action on Friday begins at 2:00 p.m. PT with the first round of doubles, followed by the first round of singles matches at 3:00 p.m. PT … A second round of doubles matchups will be at 8:30 a.m. PT on Saturday and another set of singles matches is set for 9:30 a.m. PT that day … Sunday's schedule is slated to have Navy play singles at 8:00 a.m. PT to finish off the event.

With players spanning two time zones, Navy wrapped up play last weekend after competing in the 49th Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Wisconsin while also hosting the three-day Navy Blue & Gold Invitational in Annapolis … While sophomores

San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic History
The inaugural San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic in 2021 saw Jillian Taggart, Katreina Corpuz, Meghana Komarraju and Kacey Moore combined to record a perfect 6-0 record in doubles matches along with posting a 7-5 mark in singles competition … 2022 featured
Emily Tannenbaum,
Sylvia Eklund, Casey Accola and Stella Ribaudo finishing the weekend with an 8-4 record in singles play and a 4-2 mark in doubles competition, with Tannenbaum garnering Tournament MVP … The third annual SDVTC had Tannenbaum, Ribaudo, Samantha Johns and Sia Chaudry post a 10-8 overall record for the weekend, tallying a 6-6 mark in singles competition and 4-2 mark on the doubles courts, as Chaudry was given the SDVTC Sportsmanship Award while Tannenbaum received the SDVTC Leadership Award … The 2024 event saw Tannenbaum pace the Mids with a combined 6-0 record on the weekend and pick up the tournament's Most Valuable Player honors for the second time in three years.
