ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior snipe Eli Heidenreich has been named the NAAA Athlete of the Week for his performance in Navy's 34-31 victory over Air Force.
Heidenreich, who was targeted eight times on the day, caught a career-high eight passes for a school record 243 yards and a school record tying three touchdowns in the Mids win. His touchdown catches went for 19, 80, and 60 yards.
Heidenreich also set the Navy career record for touchdown catches (14) on his 60-yard catch. With his performance, Heidenreich now ranks third on Navy's career receiving yards list with 1,466.
Navy will travel to a very good Temple squad on Saturday afternoon in a game that will kick off at 4:00 PM on ESPN2 and the Navy Radio Network. Roy Philpott, Sam Acho and Taylor Davis will have the call on ESPN2, while Joe Miller, Mike James and Keith Mills will have the call on radio.
