HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Colgate limited the Navy volleyball team to a .000 hitting percentage in the final three sets of a four-set victory by the Raiders (18-9, 13-3) over the Mids (12-13, 8-8), Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, N.Y.  The 19-25, 25-10, 25-11, 25-17 decision was the regular season finale for both teams.

The loss by Navy coupled with today's victory by Bucknell over Army means the Mids will be seeded fifth in the Patriot League Tournament and play their first-round match Tuesday night (6 p.m.) at the home of the fourth-seeded Bison.

"Colgate is a team that knows how to win in November, and they showed it today," said Navy head coach Paco Labrador. "We had some bright spots, particularly in sets one and four.  I'm happy we had this match to set the expectations of what it will take to win moving forward.  We have a short turnaround to prepare for Bucknell Tuesday.  We are looking forward to recovering and returning to the gym."

Set One
Navy scored the first seven points of the match and held the lead until Colgate tied the score at 18-18.  The Mids responded with a 5-0 run to build a 23-18 advantage.  Kills by Grace Burgoyne, Farrah Eike and Eike again started the run, then a block by the tandem of Siena Morgan and Caroline Buffum was followed by a Colgate attack error to account for the fifth point.

A Colgate kill gave the serve back to the Raiders, but a service error returned it to the Mids.  Navy converted its first chance to win the set on Eike's fifth kill of the frame.

Set Two
Colgate turned a slim 6-5 lead into a 15-7 cushion on its way to leveling the match at one set each.

Set Three
The Raiders jumped out to a 9-2 lead and soon led by double figures.

Set Four
Colgate again had a great start as it took a 6-1 lead, only to see Navy tie the frame at 6-6.  It soon was a two-point Colgate lead at 12-10 when the Raiders expanded their cushion out to 18-11.  

Statistical Summary
Navy led Colgate 15-11 in kills and .323-.188 in hitting percentage in the first set.  The Raiders would outhit the Mids 38-26 in kills and .344-.000 in hitting percentage over the course of sets two through four.

Colgate held a 14-5 advantage in blocks in the match.

Eike led Navy with 10 kills, Anuhea Hauanio-Lore just missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs and Lainey Feighery produced 22 assists and 11 digs.
