ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men's soccer team (3-7-7, 0-5-3 PL) will close out its 2025 season on Tuesday afternoon when it heads to nearby Patriot League rival American (7-7-2, 6-1-1 PL) for a 1:05 p.m. start at Reeves Field in Washington, D.C.
 
While the Midshipmen were eliminated from postseason contention on Friday, Navy will look to play spoiler as the Eagles chase a regular-season league championship. Tuesday's match is set to be broadcasted on ESPN+.
 
The Kids Are Alright
With rookies Nick Gallucci and Luke Parker scoring in the Oct. 18 draw against Lafayette, it marked the first time two Navy freshmen have scored in the same game since Jacob Williams and Bayne Bentley tallied goals in a 2-1 win over Boston U. on Oct. 20, 2018 … Alongside Will Cawlfield's goal earlier this fall against William & Mary, it also marks the first time that three Navy freshmen have scored in a season since the 2018 campaign when Joe Alex, Collin Armstrong, Bentley and Williams all registered goals … Scoring another goal in the draw at Loyola, Gallucci became the first Navy freshman with multiple goals in a season since Wyatt Stevens netted four tallies last year.
 
Last Time Out
In its final home game of the 2025 season, Navy was unable to rally late in a 1-0 loss to Patriot League foe Bucknell on Friday night at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility … Chasing the equalizer after the Bison's Drew Roskos struck the opening blow three minutes into the contest, the Mids had several near chances to draw even including a pair from senior Andrew Schug in the waning minutes of both halves, but Bucknell held on to earn its berth in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament and eliminate Navy from postseason contention … Freddie Lapworth would secure the two-save shutout, while Navy senior Robert Eaton also finished the evening with two saves on the other end.
 
Navy Notes
The current Navy seniors have gone 20-28-25 in their time in Annapolis, going 9-13-13 in league play and making a pair of Patriot League Tournaments, including winning the 2022 league title as freshmen … The Mids are 6-1-3 all-time when A.J. Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 5-1-4 mark when Andrew Schug scores … Navy is also 2-1-1 when Wyatt Stevens nets a goal … Only two non-senior goalkeepers have started a game in net for Navy since 2019: Pierce Holbrook (2022, 2023) and Dylan Carmody (2025).

Andrew Schug's four goals are tied for eighth in the Patriot League … Duncan Sullivan's 0.80 points per game are tied for sixth in the league … Robert Eaton's 0.791 save percentage ranks 30th in the nation and third in the Patriot League … Eaton's 72 total saves stand 13th in the country (second in PL) while his 4.80 saves per game rank 19th nationally and second in the league.

Going 7-7-2 overall and 6-1-1 in Patriot League play, the Eagles are undefeated in their last four Patriot League matches, while the six PL wins are the program's most since 2021 … American is coming off a 2-1 win over Holy Cross on Friday, as Troy Elgersma's penalty-kick goal just before halftime and Toshi Davis' go-ahead goal at 73' proved the difference to secure the Eagles a top-two seed in the upcoming league tournament … Mustapha Sowe leads the team and is tied for fourth in the league with five goals, while Sebastian Garces' team-best four assists rank fourth in the PL as well … Matthew Tibbetts has started 14 of American's 16 games in net, making 50 saves with a 1.07 goals against average … American is the fourth-lowest team nationally in fouls per game at 7.63, a league-best mark.
