ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The 2025 Rugby East champion Navy men's rugby team placed a league-leading 11 athletes on the All-Rugby East teams, the league announced Wednesday.
"We are delighted to see 11 of our players selected for the Rugby East all-conference teams," Navy Director of Rugby
Gavin Hickie said. "It is good recognition for winning the conference and for all the hard work everyone put in this fall season."
First Team All-Rugby East (5): Andrew Baublitz,
Roanin Krieger,
Edmund Soeder,
Michael Strehle and
Austin Taylor.
Baublitz earned his second-consecutive first-team All-Rugby East honor. He tied for the most tries scored this fall (4), totaling 20 points.
Krieger earned first-team honors for the fourth time in his career. The program's all-time leading scorer (591) led the team in total points (86), conversions (31) and penalty kicks (6). He also led Rugby East in scoring for the third-straight year with 77 points.
Soeder collected his first All-Rugby East honor thanks to his all-around presence on both offense and defense.
Team captains Strehle and Taylor each earned first-team honors for the first time in their careers. Strehle spent most of the fall at scrum-half, where he served as the primary decision-maker and attack coordinator. Taylor brought physicality at the lock position and scored one try for five points.
Second Team All-Rugby East (3): Aidan Bryan,
Avion Ganse and
Kade Williams.
Bryan and Williams each earned All-Rugby East honors for the first time. Bryan finished the fall with one try, while Williams tied for the second-most tries on the team (3). Ganse also scored three tries, including the game-winning score in Navy's 21–16 comeback over Army, on the way to earning his second-straight All-Rugby East accolade.
Honorable Mention (3): Aidan Gerber,
John Masino and
Max Smith.
Gerber and Masino earned their first All-Rugby East recognition. Gerber totaled 10 points from two tries, while Masino started four games and was part of a stout Navy defense.
Smith earned his second appearance on an all-conference team thanks to his electric offensive play, which resulted in four tries during the fall.
Navy returns to the pitch on Saturday, Feb. 21, when it travels to Emmitsburg, Md., to take on Mount St. Mary's in its spring opener.
