ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior nose guard Landon Robinson has earned an invitation to participate in the East-West Shrine All-Star Game, which will be played on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas. The game will be televised live on the NFL Network at 7:00 PM ET, 6:00 PM CT.
Robinson is the 36th Navy football player to be selected to the game and the second this year as he joins teammate Eli Heidenreich. Navy has not had two players play in the East-West Shrine game since 1956 when center Wilson Whitmire and guard James Hower were invited to play.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America's football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.
For more than 90 years, some of football's greatest athletes and coaches have contributed to the tradition of the East-West Shrine Bowl. Players like Tom Brady, Walter Payton, Lawrence Taylor, John Elway, Gale Sayers and Jimmy Garoppolo played in the East-West Shrine Bowl along with coaches Don Shula, Dick Vermeil, Paul "Bear" Bryant and Jerry Glanville, to name a few, have supported the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Robinson has had a standout year for the Mids and was named a First-Team All-American by the Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sports Illustrated and USA Today. He was named a Second-Team All-American by Walter Camp and The Sporting News.
Robinson, who was also named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Year and the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year, has recorded 58 tackles, a team-high 8.5 tackles for a loss, a team-high 6.5 sacks and a team-high seven hurries for the Mids this season.
#22 / #25 Navy is coming off a 17-16 win over Army to win the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy in back-to-back years for the first time since 2012-13. With the win, Navy improved to 10-2 on the year marking the first time in school history that Navy has won 10 games or more in consecutive seasons.
Navy can tie the school record of 11 wins (2019 and 2015) with a win against Cincinnati in the Liberty Bowl.
Robinson, who came to Navy as a linebacker, is known for his prolific strength as he has been named to Bruce Feldman's (The Athletic) Freaks List three times in his career.
Robinson Squats 700lbs, bench presses 465lbs, power cleans 350lbs, has a 33-inch vertical and has run a top speed of 20.13mph according to Catapult. He was ranked #13 on Feldman's Freaks List for 2025.
