ANNAPOLIS, Md.— The 2025 Heisman Memorial Trophy Finalists will be announced tonight during ESPN's Monday Night Countdown show, as well as on the Heisman website and social channels. The show airs from 6-8 PM on ESPN.
Navy senior quarterback Blake Horvath was informed on Nov. 19 by the Heisman Trophy Trust that he was an official Heisman Trophy candidate and a potential finalist.
Horvath is the first Navy quarterback in school history to have 1,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in back-to-back seasons. He is the first player to do it in the FBS since both Lamar Jackson (Louisville) and Quinton Flowers (USF) did it in 2016 and 2017.
His 165.1-career pass efficiency rating is the highest of any quarterback in Service Academy history with 150 or more attempts. Dating back to 1956, he is 1 of just 28 quarterbacks in the FBS to have a career passing efficiency of 165.0 or better with 275 or more passing attempts. Horvath is tied for 27th on that list with Will Grier (West Virginia).
Horvath's 14 rushing touchdowns this fall are tied for the 13th most in the FBS and is tied for the sixth most for a quarterback.
He is averaging 104.0 rushing yards per game this year, which ranks ninth nationally and first among quarterbacks.
Horvath is averaging 17.2 yards per completion in 2025, the fourth-best average in school history. It would lead the FBS by almost two yards if he had enough attempts to qualify.
Horvath's 1,390 passing yards this year are the 10th most in school history. He is just 74 yards away from 6th place.
Horvath is ninth on Navy's all-time career rushing leaderboard with 2,469 yards. His 31 rushing scores are tied with Napoleon McCallum for seventh.
Among Navy quarterbacks with at least 150 career attempts, his 59.2 completion percentage ranks second behind only Hall of Famer and 1963 Heisman winner Roger Staubach (63.3%). His 10.0 yards per attempt are also second to Ricky Dobbs (10.2), whose single-season record Horvath tied with 13 passing touchdowns in 2024.
The National Football Foundation will announce the winner of the William Campbell Trophy, also known as the Academic Heisman, Tuesday night during the National Football Foundation Awards dinner in Las Vegas.
The show will air at 9:30 PM (ET) on ESPN+. The Campbell Trophy is expected to be announced between 10-10:15 PM (ET). You can watch at this link if you are an ESPN+ subscriber: https://www.espn.com/watch/player?id=50b8f080-2dfb-4693-bc93-4f8f2c0af344
