ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team (9-5) posted a 4-3 victory over Hampton (0-3) Saturday in Annapolis and lost a 4-0 decision to Air Force (5-5) at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The doubles point between Navy and Air Force was not decided until the end of a lengthy tiebreaker at the No. 2 flight.  The Mids won at No. 1 doubles as Luke Garner and Jake Young posted a 6-4 win, with the Falcons winning by the same score at No. 3 doubles.  The Air Force team of AJ Moore and Langdon Tingleaf defeated Navy's Herrick Legaspi and Nathan Nguyen, 7-6 (11-9), in the deciding match to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead.

Air Force then won a trio of straight-set singles matches to earn the victory.

Back in Annapolis, the Mids won all three doubles matches against the Pirates, with the victories at the Nos. 1 and 3 flights decided in tiebreakers and the final score in the No. 2 match being 7-5.

Charlie Spencer posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles to give Navy a 2-0 lead.  After a Hampton win at No. 5 singles, Graydon Buckingham won a 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 match at No. 6 singles to make the score 3-1.  George Cutone followed with a 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles to earn the match-clinching fourth team point.  

Navy will play host to Georgetown and Richmond on Feb. 23.
