ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The No. 9 Navy rifle team (14-5) registered a 4717-4296 victory over John Jay (4-10) on Saturday morning at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range in the NCAA Qualifier. The match was the final home competition for Navy's three seniors – Marleigh Duncan, Stephanie Milvain, and Joshua Potts.
 
The NCAA Qualifier Match is pivotal as the match accounts for 50 percent of each team's score toward qualification for the national tournament that is set to be hosted by the University of Kentucky on March 14-15.
 
The remaining half of a team's NCAA qualification total is made up of the respective team's top-three scores from the season at three different locations. Additionally, the top individual shooters that are not on a qualified roster will earn bids to the NCAA Championship to compete as individuals. The 2025 National Collegiate Rifle Selection Show will air Monday, Feb. 24 at 6:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.

"We had a good qualifier," head coach Mike Anti said after the match. "We shot a decent score that put us in the running for qualifying for the NCAA Championships, unfortunately we came up a few points short. We are disappointed but it does not take away from our amazing season. I am very proud of our team. They all worked hard every day throughout the entire season. They never gave up and gave it all they had.
 
"We still have the conference championships next week and we will continue to work hard this week to have a great showing."
 
Duncan led the way for the Midshipmen, finishing her final home competition with an 1182 aggregate score. She posted a 587 in smallbore to go along with a 595 in air rifle. Sophomore Ryan Wee joined Duncan in the 1180s. He posted a career-high tally of 1180 combined with a 585 in smallbore and a new best score of 595 in air rifle.
 
Three Midshipmen finished with scores in the 1170s. Milvain recorded a smallbore total of 587 and an air rifle score of 591 for a combined score of 1178. Sophomore Isabella Baldwin was one point back with an 1177. She registered a score of 584 in smallbore with a 593 in air rifle. Junior Parker Haydin finished the day with an 1176 total. He carded totals of 582 (smallbore) and 594 (air rifle) for his 1176.
 
Potts closed out his day with an 1163 aggregate total. The senior notched a 571 in smallbore to go along with a career-high 592 in air rifle.
 
Catherine Dely and Devin Uhrich matched one another with aggregate scores of 1158. C.Dely used scores of 574 (smallbore) and 584 (air rifle) for her 1158, while Uhrich carded scores of 569 (smallbore) and 589 (air rifle) for his final total. Grace Shepard finished with a 569 in smallbore and 585 in air rifle to combine for an aggregate score of 1154.
 
Elizabeth Johnson, Chelsie Glover, and John Dely rounded out the scoring for the Midshipmen on the day. Johnson shot a 570 (smallbore) and 577 (air rifle) for an 1147, while Glover finished with scores of 560 (smallbore) and 581 (air rifle) for an aggregate total of 1141. J.Dely finished the day with 1100 total points on 537 (smallbore) and 563 (air rifle).
 
Navy will return to action March 1-2 as it travels to Morgantown, W.Va. for the annual GARC Championship. Competition from the WVU Rifle Range is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. each day.
