The Navy football team will play five of its first seven games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and will face back-to-back road games just once according to the 2025 Navy football schedule that was released today by the American Athletic Conference.
Â
Navy returns 17 starters and 47 letter winners off a team that went 10-3, defeated Army and Air Force to win the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy and beat Oklahoma in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
Â
Navy will kick off the 2025 campaign on Aug. 30 at home against VMI. It will be the first meeting between the Midshipmen and Keydets since 2014 when Navy won 51-14. Navy is 10-0 all-time against VMI.
Â
The Mids will host UAB in their American Athletic Conference opener on Sept. 6. Last year, the Mids defeated the Blazer 41-18 in Birmingham.Â
Â
Navy will hit the road the following week for a Sept. 13 tilt at Tulsa. It will be the Mids' first trip to head coach
Brian Newberry's home state since Oct. 29, 2021, when Navy defeated Tulsa 20-17.
Â
After an open week, the Mids will have revenge on their mind when Rice comes to town on Sept. 27. Last year, Rice defeated the Mids 24-10 in a game that was delayed three times due to severe lightning and almost three inches of rain for a total of five hours and six minutes, including a two hour and 25-minute delay to start the game. It will be the Owls' first trip to Annapolis since Oct. 23, 2004. Navy won that game 14-13.
Â
Air Force will come to Annapolis on Oct. 4 in the first leg of the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy. Navy defeated the Falcons 34-7 last year in Colorado Springs. The Mids have not defeated Air Force at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium since 2019 when Navy won a thriller 34-25.
Â
The Mids will make the trip to the City of Brotherly Love on Oct. 11 for a game against Temple. That will be a big weekend in the city of Philadelphia, as the United States Navy will also be celebrating its 250
th birthday. The Mids defeated Temple 38-11 last year in Annapolis.
Â
After another off-week, Navy will play host to FAU on Oct. 25 for Homecoming. This will be just the third meeting between the Mids and the Owls and the first since 2017 when Navy won in Boca Raton 42-19. FAU last visited Annapolis in 2012, a game Navy won 24-17.
Â
Navy will hit the road for back-to-back road games beginning with a trip to Denton to take on North Texas on Nov. 11. This will be Navy's first trip back to North Texas since the famous 2007 game Navy won 74-62. At the time, it was the highest-scoring game in regulation in FBS history and is currently the third-highest in games decided in regulation. That 2007 game is also the last time a Navy football game was not televised or streamed.
Â
Navy will travel to South Bend on Nov. 8 to take on a Notre Dame team that lost to Ohio State in the National Championship game and finished with a 14-2 record. This will be Navy's first game in South Bend since 2021 and the Mids have not won in South Bend since 2009 when Navy edged the Irish 23-21.
Â
Navy will return home on Nov. 15 to take on USF on senior day. The Mids defeated the Bulls 28-7 last year in Tampa.
Â
Navy will travel to Memphis to take on the Tigers on either Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) or the day after Thanksgiving pending a decision by television. Last year, the Mids upset the preseason favorite Tigers 56-44 in Annapolis. Navy has not won in Memphis since Nov. 7, 2015, which was Navy's first year in the league.
Â
The American Athletic Conference Championship Game will take place either Friday, Dec. 5 or Saturday, Dec. 6 at the home of the highest remaining seed.
Â
The greatest rivalry in all of sports, the annual Army-Navy Game presented by USAA, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. This will be the first time the Army-Navy game will be played in Baltimore since 2016 and the seventh time ever.
