ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team had 12 different players record at least one victory as it posted a 5-2 win over Lehigh in Annapolis and a 6-1 victory over Lafayette in Easton, Pa., on Saturday.  The wins by the Mids (16-13) over the Mountain Hawks (7-7, 1-1) and Leopards (4-11, 1-3) improved their Patriot League record to 4-0.

Navy won the doubles point against Lehigh with wins at the first and third slots in the lineup.  The first match to finish was the No. 3 contest where Aniketh Ayinala and J.J. Etterbeek defeated Rafael Gracie and Jackson Morash by the score of 6-2.  The Mountain Hawks evened the proceedings when their No. 2 team of Luke Donovan and Jose Murariu posted a 7-5 win over Herrick Legaspi and Nathan Nguyen.  Navy secured the point when its No. 1 tandem of Luke Garner and Jake Young defeated Marc Blekhman and Sam Jaeger, 7-5.

The Mids then won the first set in five singles matches on their way to recording the victory.  Legaspi made the score 2-0 when he posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Blekhman at No. 1 singles.  Ayinala followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Ben Horn-Bourque at No. 6 singles.  Garner recorded the match-clinching fourth point with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Jaeger at the No. 3 spot.

Finishing at nearly the same time was the No. 4 match where Young defeated Morash, 6-4, 6-1.  Nguyen trailed Murariu, 6-1, 3-6, 3-2, when he retired at No. 2 and Etterbeek lost, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6), to Ofer Hacohen at No. 5 in the remaining matches.

Navy swept the three doubles matches from Lafayette to take a 1-0 lead.  George Cutone and Charlie Spencer registered a 6-1 win over Sam Gelber and Jake Magnusson at the No. 2 flight in the first match to finish.  Navy's No. 1 team of Jason Kim and Tommy Kim then posted a 6-4 victory over Arman Ganchi and Nicholas McKenzie.  Completing the sweep was the No. 3 team of Graydon Buckingham and Zach Quattro as the duo defeated Aidan Mahaffey and Tyler Mahaffey by the score of 6-3.

Steve Nguyen recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tyler Mahaffey at No. 5 singles in the first completed singles match to make the score 2-0, but a 6-4, 6-0 win by Owen Studdiford over Buckingham at the No. 6 flight sliced the lead in half.

Jason Kim notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory over McKenzie at No. 2 singles (3-0), then Tommy Kim defeated Darrin Lerner, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 3 singles to place the fourth team point on the scoreboard.  Cutone quickly followed with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles to make the score 5-0, then Spencer held off Magnusson, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), at No. 4 singles in what was the last match left on the courts.

Navy will play four matches next weekend.  Friday's slate has the Mids playing host to Norfolk State and playing at Bucknell.  Two days later, Navy will play Longwood in Annapolis and Holy Cross in Worcester.
