ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Wrapping up the regular season on its home course Saturday and Sunday, the Navy women's golf team used a pair of top-5 individual performances to spur a runner-up team finish at the 2025 Navy Spring Invitational this weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
Playing on the par-72, 6,084-yard course, the Midshipmen posted a round of 300 to open the tournament on Saturday while the team responded with a 296 score Sunday in a continued chase of first-place Boston University, with Navy finishing the weekend at 20-over par 596, just two strokes shy of the Terriers' title-winning score of 18-over par 594 (299-295).
With Boston's Amy Han claiming the individual medal at 3-under par 141, the top-5 found two Mids inside, as sophomore
Emma Tang and junior
Sue Lee finished tied with each other for fifth place at 4-over par 148. Tang used a 75 round on the first day before following with a 73 on Sunday, while Lee countered a 76 score on Saturday by shooting a 72 in the final round.
Also posting a top-10 finish, sophomore
Keira Howard tied for seventh on the leaderboard at 7-over par 151 by tallying rounds of 79 and 72.
Continuing down the lineup, freshman
Vivian Cressman shot a 10-over par 154 with rounds of 75 and 79 to tie for 13th, while fellow rookie
Megan Kirkpatrick posted a weekend score of 12-over par 156 to place 16th, registering rounds of 74 and 82.
Competing as individuals, senior
Bridget Hoang took 38th at 23-over par 167 (84-83), junior
Hallie Brisco placed 41st at 26-over par 170 (89-81) and sophomore
Una Johnson finished 43rd with a 27-over par 171 (83-88)
Up next for Navy is the 2025 Patriot League Championship on April 18-20, being hosted at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
