NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) honored 128 student-athletes in Division I women's lacrosse with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2025 on Friday morning, including three Midshipmen who were named All-Mid-Atlantic Region. Alyssa Daley (draw specialist) was named to the first team, while senior
Emily Messinese (attack) and sophomore
Mikayla Williams were named to the second team.
Daley and Messinese were both second-team honorees last year, while this is the first selection for Williams. The trio join Jenna Collins (2016, '17, '18), Julia Collins (2018), Jasmine DePompeo (2011, '12, 13), Loren Generi (2013, '14, '15), Kelly Larkin (2018, '19), and
Ava Yovino (2023) in the Navy annals as All-Region picks.
It is the second consecutive season that Navy had multiple IWLCA All-Region selections.
Alyssa Daley – Draw Specialist
A draw control specialist, Daley earned her second All-Mid-Atlantic Region honor. The senior finished the season with a Navy school record 236 draw controls, beating the previous record that she set last season. Daley ranked fourth in the NCAA and first in the Patriot League in draw controls per game, while helping the team rank second the NCAA in draw controls percentage (.633) and draw controls per game (18.10). Daley finished the year with 12 double-digit draw control performances including becoming the first Midshipmen in program history with 20 or more draws, setting the new school record with 21 draws in a game at Lehigh. Daley, who was a two-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree, finished her career with a Navy and Patriot League record 504 draw controls.
Emily Messinese – Attack
For the second consecutive year, Messinese was tabbed Second Team All-Region. The three-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree helped lead Navy with 69 points on 43 goals, while adding a team-high 26 assists with 54 draw controls, 22 ground balls, and 10 caused turnovers. Messinese ranked in the top 10 in the Patriot League in assists (4), free position goals per game (4), free position percentage (4), points (7), assists per game (8), and goals (10). During the season, Messinese registered eight hat tricks to give her 32 in her Navy career, which ranks as the seventh-most in program history.
Mikayla Williams – Midfield
Williams proved to be one of the Midshipmen's most valuable assets throughout her sophomore season. She played and started all 21 games, finishing the season with 65 points on 51 goals and 14 assists, while adding 54 draw controls, 20 ground balls, and six caused turnovers. Williams, who was the Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player, concluded the season ranked in the top 15 in the Patriot League in shot percentage (3), goals (7), goals per game (10), and points (11).
